Read MoreYou may wonder why the logo of Parami University is just a simple-yellow circle, and what our inspiration is behind this logo. We'd like to share the hidden meaning of the yellow circle in the Parami University’s logo and the remarkable fact about the origin of the name “Parami.”
The name of Parami University is “to reach one’s full potential,” the original meaning of the Pali word “Para mi.” The Parami” is abstracted from “Parama” with the definition of completeness or commonly translated as “perfection.” As the Buddhist tradition has developed, Parami has become so rich in the meaning. It contains ten forms of perfection—giving, virtue, wisdom, energy, renunciation, patience, truthfulness, determination, loving kindness, and equanimity. All of these words are said to be the necessary quality set that one may need during a lifetime.
The logo of Parami University is simple, and yet elegant. Parami University worked closely with the talented design team at Studio Loutsis in New York City to create a logo that can show the process that will portray the name “Parami” through three stages. The first circle embodies the high aspirations and potential of our students to become future leaders. During their time at Parami University, they are empowered to become broad-minded whole individuals as in the second circle. The third circle symbolizes the notion that these leaders and change-agents, after Parami, will venture out into the world to make an impact far and wide.
