Parami University’s Trustee wins ASEAN Entrepreneur Award 2020

We are pleased to share that Ms. Nang Kham Noung (Marlene), the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of KBZ Bank, Myanmar's largest private bank, received 5th ASEAN Entrepreneur Award 2020 in September, 2020. The award was given under the “Empowering Women” category to acknowledge Ms. Nang Kham Noung’s leadership in the financial sector and her devotion to promote gender equality in Myanmar through her work with KBZ Bank.

Three entrepreneurs from Myanmar, Indonesia and Vietnam won the 5th ASEAN Entrepreneur Award this year. The ASEAN-Korea Center, in collaboration with Maekyung Media Group, has been awarding the ASEAN Entrepreneur Award to outstanding entrepreneurs in the ASEAN region since 2016.  

Throughout her career, Ms. Nang Kham Noung’s leadership has cultivated a strong spirit of intrapreneurship and created environments that empower teams to bring fast-growth strategies to life with cutting-edge products and services that push the boundaries of financial technology in Myanmar and beyond. Key achievement in her field of professions include leading KBZ Bank’s digital transformation initiatives since 2017, overseeing the launching of Myanmar’s first bank-led digital payment wallet - KBZPay and co-leading of the Bank’s Talent Factory initiatives which dedicating to creating a new generation of well rounded future leaders of Myanmar. 

KBZ Bank has been a long time donor and supporter of Parmi Liberal Arts and Sciences Foundation. KBZ Bank has provided scholarships to students of the Parami Leadership Program since 2017. In addition, the generous donation of $1,000,000 towards Parami University will be used for the construction of Kanbawza Hall, a modern lecture hall with a spacious auditorium, 20 classrooms and offices.
