Parami University Campus Development Engages with Local and International Design ProfessionalsOctober 13, 2020
Lin Innovative Networks and ZAD Office, two of Yangon-based architecture firms, have been design powerhouses for the establishment of Parami University, Myanmar's first non-profit liberal arts institution. With accessibility and efficiency in mind, these architecture firms have been working on different stages of architectural and interior design, including schematic design and design development. Since July 2020, Parami University has partnered with international engineering consultant, Meinhardt Group to process construction documents, and tender documents to begin the construction of the campus in early 2021.
Being a residential campus, Parami University will include residence halls for both students in all four years of undergraduate program. In addition, there will be a dining hall, a community lounge, student spaces, a staff housing, a library, and academic buildings across the spacious green space of Hmawbi.
Educated in the US institutions, both principal architects shared the mission of building a campus that will provide the future generation in Myanmar with a similar education and residential experience within the country.
“It is truly a great honor for us to be a part of this project. As we are architects, we have always dreamt of designing buildings, especially institutional public buildings, which will create a positive impact within our community. By designing for Parami, we are actually contributing back to the community with the knowledge that we have, and we can help inspire our younger generations,” said Aung Tun Lin, Principle Architect of Lin Innovative Networks.
Partnership with Meinhardt Group began in July 2020. Meinhardt Group is an internationally recognized engineering firm that provides innovative and sustainable engineering consulting and services in diverse projects around the world. We are excited to have partnered with an award-winning firm. Our campus planning team is currently working on soil testing and tender process, which are essential steps to begin the construction of Parami University.
