Read MoreParami University started as a pilot institute, known as Parami Institute, in early 2017 to provide Myanmar’s youth with the skills they need to become competent leaders and responsible citizens through a global-minded liberal arts and sciences education. In 2020, we are re-structuring our organizational components to fit the needs of the university as a whole.
Parami University now has two learning institutes and one research center—Parami Institute of Undergraduate Studies (IUS), Parami Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), and Center for Education Policy Research (CEPR).
Opening in 2020, Parami University will offer opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds and different regions across Myanmar to fulfill and unlock their potentials through liberal education. Parami University will launch with three undergraduate majors: 1) Politics, Philosophy and Economics, 2) Urban and Environmental Studies, and 3) Computational and Statistical Sciences under Parami Institute of Undergraduate Studies. Through an interdisciplinary approach, each major will provide students with essential skills and habits during the course of their study that will prepare them for their future. All majors offered at Parami University are highly favorable subjects devoted to the country’s development.
With the notion of progressivism in education through teaching, the Parami Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) will nurture and empower Myanmar’s young adults with problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills through a broad range of educational programs. Taught by both experienced Parami and visiting faculty, ICE will continually offer leadership programs, career development courses, and capacity building classes for students, working professionals, and those who wish to continue their learning.
As a research center of Parami University, which focuses on higher education in Myanmar, CEPR aims to develop and promote a research culture in Myanmar that will have a positive impact on the education sector and the community more broadly. Inducing a systemic change in education, CEPR seeks to have a wider impact on the entire education ecosystem, as well as society. By collaborating with local and international partners, CEPR hopes to grow a network of informed education professionals. This facilitates a wise decision making that will enrich Myanmar's education sector and, as a result, communities within Myanmar.
Each one of Parami University's components has been devoting their activities and making an impact on Myanmar's education sector, especially in higher education. As a leading private institution, Parami University aims to nurture inspired future leaders and global citizens of our nation through liberal arts education.
