1. BACKGROUND
Parami University is a private non-profit higher education institution offering a variety of high-quality online education programs and courses to students from Myanmar and the global south. We provide accessible educational opportunities to students from diverse socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. All our instructional programs take place online, including the associate and bachelor degree programs, with students, staff, and faculty placed globally, particularly in Myanmar and Thailand.
We are looking for a new Director of Institutional Advancement to oversee operational units and provide strategic leadership for the institution's growth and sustainability. The Director of Institutional Advancement will be part of the management team responsible for meeting the institution's mission and objectives of providing quality higher education to youth from all walks of life in Myanmar and the global south. Descriptively, the Director of Institutional Advancement is responsible for overseeing all activities related to developing/implementing fundraising initiatives, cultivating/maintaining public relations, complying with/maintaining institutional licensure and accreditation, and growing/engaging with alumni.
2. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Institutional Advancement will oversee all the units under the Office of Institutional Advancement. She/He will work closely with the University Management and the University President to explore and identify growth and expansion opportunities to fulfill the University’s missions and goals. She/He will serve as the primary administrative liaison between the University Management and the Governing Board of Trustees.
The responsibilities of the Director of the Institutional Advancement include, but not limited to the following:
1. Unit of Grants and Development

Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy and develop annual work plans and KPIs

Undertake fundraising activities to meet the annual fundraising targets of the University
-
Implement the fundraising pipeline for both institutional funders and individual donors, from prospect research to proposal development to grants and donor reporting

Run fundraising campaigns and organize activities2 to maintain donor engagement

Manage budgeting and partnership subcontracts of the University’s learning hubs, which are operated in partnership with local education institutions in Myanmar and Thailand

Build strategic partnerships and represent the University to the stakeholders, the donor community, and the non-profit education community
2. Unit of Public Relations and Communications

Provide strategic direction and manage the communications team members to increase the University’s online branding and presence across all media platforms, including website and social media

Collaborate closely with internal program teams to meet program objectives such as student enrollment targets and event attendance goals and oversee the implementation of the marketing pipeline

Oversee publication of the annual report and other key publications

Review weekly social media, website, and newsletter content drafted by the communications team
3. Unit of Institutional Assessment

Provide oversight to the institutional assessment manager to ensure compliance with theUniversity licensure and prepare for accreditation

Develop internal systems to strengthen data collection, organizational development, and internal quality assurance
4. Unit of Alumni Relations and Career Development

Develop partnerships with organizations and industries to provide internship and service learning opportunities to students

Develop career-related services for students

Manage alumni database, oversee data collection, and collaborate with the alumni to organize activities to improve engagement and connection of the alumni to the University
3. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:

University degree in a relevant field

Minimum of 5 years of work experience in management and/or administrative positions in business, non-profit, or education

Prior experience in development and grants management
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Burmese is preferred

Proven record of management experience and problem solving skills
