Position: Admissions and Student Support Coordinator

Base: Remote

1. DESCRIPTION OF PARAMI UNIVERSITY

 

Parami University is a private, non-profit higher education institution that has been offering a variety of high-quality online courses and programs to students from Myanmar with diverse experiences and backgrounds since 2017. This Project will be jointly run by Parami University and Bard College, with funding from USAID, and will seek to recruit Burmese youth from marginalized or diverse backgrounds to enroll in the Higher Education Access Program (HEAP). The program aims to equip them with English language skills, critical thinking abilities, and the academic foundation necessary for them to pursue international higher education. There will be a particular emphasis on recruiting young people with disabilities.

2. JOB SUMMARY

The Admissions and Student Support Coordinator will play a critical role in the successful implementation of HEAP by overseeing student outreach and recruitment, admissions, and comprehensive support services for enrolled students. The Coordinator will ensure smooth onboarding, address student needs throughout the academic cycle, and support students in achieving program completion. This role is designed for a detail-oriented, student-focused professional passionate about expanding educational access in marginalized contexts. They should be able to work independently as well as closely with the Director of Admissions and Student Affairs at Parami University and the Bard College Project Director.

3. POSITION REQUIREMENTS

(1) A bachelor’s degree or relevant diploma in the related field;

(2) Fluency in Burmese and English;

(3) Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports;

(4) Independent worker with strong attention to detail;

(5) Familiarity with working with online tools, such as Zoom, Google Forms, and Microsoft Excel;

(6) Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills;

4. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

 

(1) Coordinate student outreach and conduct virtual information sessions (in-person if necessary) to recruit target  students for the program.

(2) Collect, maintain, and update admissions records and files, and compile admissions and student support reports.

(3) Handle requests, complaints, and questions, and offer support as appropriate.

(4) Identify students’ needs proactively and provide the necessary support to maintain a high program completion rate, both independently and in collaboration with relevant individuals and teams.

(5) Work closely with the Admissions, Communications, and Operation teams for the successful implementation of the project.

(6) Act as a main liaison among project partners, keep lines of communication open and ensure compliance with project parameters.
